Amy Robach and Daughter Open Up About Their 'Unique Experience' Living Together After Divorce from Andrew Shue
Robach and her 18-year-old daughter Annalise lived together just the two of them following her divorce from ex Andrew Shue
Amy Robach is getting emotional about becoming an empty nester.
On Monday, Aug. 26th's episode of the Amy and T.J. Podcast, the mom of two is joined by her younger daughter Annalise, 18, whom she shares with her ex-husband Tim McIntosh.
The mother-daughter duo opened up about living just the two of them following her public divorce from ex Andrew Shue in 2023, calling it a "unique experience."
"You can look at the bad and the negative with divorce and upheaval and all of that. That's not anything I would ever suggest or want for anyone or any family," the former GMA3: What You Need to Know anchor says, adding, "However, we have had the unique experience of being able to just be the two of us."

"We always had so many people in our apartment and so many people different people living with us at different times," Robach continues.
Annalise then chimes in, sharing, "I would definitely say not to dwell on the past. That would be my big thing. Things happen for a reason that might not be for a good reason, but, eventually, it all works out."
"And I think that also really applies to college," adds the college-bound teenager. "There's so many things that's gonna happen to me, and I just kind of have to keep going."
The proud mom continues to share her gratitude for her and Annalise's close-knit relationship.
"I think we've only had, like, 1 or 2 flare ups ever in 18 years. And that, I'm just appreciative," Robach says. "You are very calm and cool. Like, you're the cool girl. Everybody wants you to be their friend."

She then compares this admirable quality to that of her podcast co-host and partner T.J. Holmes, saying, "It's like T.J. is the cool guy. Everybody wants him to like them. You have that same quality."
News of Robach and Holmes' romance was made public in November 2022, when photos of them cozying up together surfaced. At the time, Robach had not confirmed her separation from Shue, nor had Holmes from ex Marilee Fiebig.
On Dec. 5, 2022, Robach and Holmes were “temporarily” removed from GMA3: What You Need to Know, and it was officially announced the following month that they would not be returning to their roles at ABC News as a result of the company's investigation into their romance.
In addition to Annalise, Robach and McIntosh share their older daughter Ava, 21. Annalise is starting her first semester as a freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder this fall, and Robach tears up on her podcast as she discusses preparing to parent with no kids at home.
After revealing to Holmes that she hasn't lived alone since she was 22 years old, Robach calls empty nesting "a whole new way of operating."
"There's a whole new way of operating when you don't have to worry or think about or just be constantly monitoring your children," she explains. "All of a sudden, you have all this time back mentally, physically, logistically, and it can be great, but it's a big change."
