Former GMA3 co-anchors Robach and Holmes were fired from ABC News in January 2023 after news of their romantic relationship leaked. The two were married to their respective spouses (Robach was married to Melrose Place star Andrew Shue and Holmes was married to attorney Marilee Fiebig), but reportedly they had been separated. Robach and Holmes finalized each of their divorces in 2023.

Shue and Fiebig started dating each other after their divorces were finalized. In August 2024, Shue gave a life update during an appearance on the Still the Place podcast. “I’m doing very well,” he said. “I am very happy.”

Robach and Holmes started the Amy & T.J. Podcast in December 2023. During the first episode, Holmes noted, “The best way to sum us up, Amy and T.J., is that we’re the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other.”

Robach commented that they had “gone through a year of hell,” but emerged in a good place. “Relationships are hard, they’re messy, they’re not perfect,” she shared. “We have fought for love, and I can say I have never been happier. I am with my best friend.”

Holmes said he was the “happiest and healthiest that I’ve been in my life,” adding, “I’m in love with this woman and she’s in love with me and we are planning a life together.”

In a September 16, 2024 episode of the podcast titled “Jodie Sweetin Unfiltered,” they spoke to the Full House actor about living life in the spotlight.

“You know how — we know this — how some publications love to jump on any kind of, even seeming — like, like they almost make controversy where it doesn’t even exist,” Robach said.

Holmes noted, “Us ignoring and not responding cost us jobs, cost us careers. That stuff is so poisonous sometimes and it does — it can do more than just mess with your head. It can have real-world consequences.”

On September 16, Robach and Holmes shared the news of their newest project. Taking to Instagram, they announced: “It’s official! Morning Run debuts today and will air Monday through Friday, bringing you daily news, entertainment and lifestyle headlines, keeping listeners informed and entertained every day of the workweek. This will be in addition to our bi-weekly podcast that features more in-depth conversations and interviews. Hope everyone will check it out and start your day with us.”

Their fans flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages about the new show. “You should make it a tv show! Include news topics, sports, health, and pop culture!” one person said.

Another fan commented, “Excited about your new Morning Run! Miss you and TJ on TV so much! None of the network morning show anchors compare with the chemistry you two have. It’s definitely their loss!!!”
