Andor Season 2 Brings Back Ben Mendelsohn

Ben Mendelsohn is returning as Orson Krennic in Andor season 2, a new report claims.

The news is a result of a slip-up by one of Andor season 2’s directors, Alonso Ruizpalacios. He tells The Playlist how it was a treat directing heavyweight actors like, “Stellan Skarsg?rd, Forest Whitaker, and Ben Mendelsohn,” presumably not realizing Mendelsohn’s role as one of the Death Star’s chief architect’s in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has yet to be revealed.

Previously, Mendelsohn had shot down rumors he’s returning to Star Wars, telling Bad Taste the following: “As for being contacted by Lucasfilm for a new project, I can tell you that no, I have not been approached for something like this.”

This past weekend at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, however, Andor lead Diego Luna teased fans by saying season 2 of the show will feature some familiar faces.

“I can tell you, Rogue One is coming, so there will be characters there that you will recognize. There will be cool stuff. For those who love Rogue One, this season is going to be very special.”

Andor takes place in the months before Rogue One, so there will inevitably be character crossovers. Of them all, Krennic is one of the most highly anticipated.
