André 3000, Elvis Costello to join jazz greats at 2024 Newport Jazz Festival. What to know
As has been the case in recent years, the Newport Jazz Festival will feature artists who don't typically evoke the genre.
The 2024 festival lineup announced Tuesday includes nearly 50 performers coming to Fort Adams for the three-day festival in August. Among the highlights are legendary artists including Sun Ra Arkestra, Bill Frisell, Stanley Clarke and Galactic with Irma Thomas.
Also joining the festival are André 3000 – known as part of the rap group Outkast – Elvis Costello and Nile Rodgers & CHIC.
When is the 2024 Newport Jazz Festival
The 2024 festival takes place Aug. 2-4 in Fort Adams State Park in Newport. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the festival.
How to get tickets to the Newport Jazz Festival
Specially priced 3 Day Tickets went on sale today, April 9 at 1 p.m. for 24 hours only. All other ticket types go on sale on April 10 at 1 p.m. ET viaDICE.
A limited number of discounted 3-Day Tickets are available for purchase on a first come first serve basis. Student tickets are only for students aged 10-25. Current College students are required to present a student photo ID. Middle and High School students are not required to show ID. All students must enter through the student gate only. Children under the age of 10 are free except for Jazz Lounge Tickets. Only two children are allowed per ticketed adult. All children 10 and over will need a full-priced admission ticket.

What is the Jazz Lounge
This year a limited Jazz Lounge Festival admission ticket allowing access to a separate Festival entrance, a premium parking space (one space per ticket order), and exclusive access to the Jazz Lounge – a tented lounge on the North Lawn/Fort Stage where you will find: Lounge seating, complimentary wifi, a private cash bar, TV monitors for a live view of the Fort Stage performances, and air conditioned restroom facilities is being offered. The lounge will also feature panoramic views of Newport Harbor, Narragansett Bay and the Fort Stage. The Lounge ticket is in addition to 3-Day, 2-Day and Single day regular tickets and discounted student tickets.
