Angela Bassett Admits Husband Courtney B. Vance Has Not Watched ‘9-1-1’ Series

Angela Bassett admits that her husband Courtney B. might not be up to date on her latest silver screen drama. The actress visited Good Morning America on Wednesday (March 13) to promote the pending series of her hit series 9-1-1 when host George Stephanopoulos asked if it was true that her husband has yet to tune in.

“I don’t think he has,” laughed the 65-year-old after a deep sigh. “Maybe in the early years. I don’t know. He’s one of those with projects, so he’s always busy with something.”

Despite the confession, the Wakanda Forever star and host Robin Roberts noted that the two always support each other’s careers.

9-1-1 is set to air its seventh installment on ABC for the first time after previously being housed at Fox. The series was canceled on its prior network last year before making the move. According to Deadline, the cancellation was a financial decision despite existing as Fox’s top-rated scripted series for adults 18-49 and its most-watched series overall.

Alongside Bassett, 9-1-1 stars Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds, Ryan Guzman, and Gavin McHugh. According to the official description, the series explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders — including police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers.
