Angelina Jolie Embraces the Transformative Power of ‘A Perfect Red Lip’ in New Tom Ford Runway Lip Color Campaign
Following the August 2024 announcement of her brand partnership, Angelina Jolie stars in a new video ad campaign for Tom Ford Beauty’s Runway Lip Color. The “Maria” star serves as the brand’s first celebrity face for beauty, marking a new era for the both the actress and the beauty label.
The video, lensed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, features Jolie on a film set as she reviews a script and poses for the camera. Close-ups on the Academy Award-winning actress showcase the vibrant red hue (16 Scarlet Rouge) from the Tom Ford Beauty Runway Lip Color collection.

“What I look for most in a beauty product is quality. I personally wear Scarlet Rouge by Tom Ford because of its rich color and texture. A perfect red lip needs little else,” Jolie said via email.
Runway Lip Color debuted with full distribution beginning last September with 18 shades featuring 10 existing colors and eight new shades.
Jolie “appeals to a broad demographic, and she has global appeal,” Guillaume Jesel, the brand’s president and chief executive officer, told WWD’s Beauty Inc last August. “We are branded very internationally, and are well diversified around the world. And her appeal to Gen Z is very interesting.”
On the brand’s new direction, Jesel said Runway “is one of our franchises to communicate, as the brand becomes more distributed, the connection to fashion,” he said. “Lip is the ultimate fashion accessory, it’s a carrier of the brand DNA, and it is at the core of the brand identity.”
The collaboration came at a fortuitous time for Jolie, coinciding with the anticipation for her new film, “Maria.” Directed by Pablo Larraín, Jolie stars as the iconic opera singer Maria Callas. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival last August and has since been shown at the London and New York Film Festivals.
