Angelina Jolie Revealed That Her Ongoing Court Battle With Brad Pitt Is Exhausting
It’s been eight years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split after an alleged Sept. 14, 2016, domestic violence incident on a plane changed their lives forever. Since then, the former couple has been engaged in courtroom wars from child custody to their French winery, Chateau Miraval, and now, the 49-year-old actress is admitting that enough is enough.
Jolie is asking her ex-husband to “end the fighting” and move on. Her lawyer, Paul Murphy told Page Six that the 60-year-old actor “has control of all the properties the couple shared as well as control of the business, but still he demands more, and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages.” The lengthy legal battle has been fought over her decision to sell her half of the wine business. She offered it to Pitt, but he wanted an NDA so that she couldn’t speak about the alleged abuse on the plane in 2016.

She refused to agree to his terms, and she sold her shares to a Russian oligarch. Jolie’s legal team claimed that Pitt was retaliating for not having full control of the winery. “In doing so, Pitt placed squarely at issue why he tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a newly expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse. Those actions are central to these proceedings,” the statement continued. “We are not at all surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts.”
That’s why Jolie is firmly asking for an end to the constant court cases and to “finally put their family on a clear path toward healing.” The exes share six children, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. Pitt reportedly has no relationship with his adult children and “limited visits” with the twins — although Vivienne recently listed her name as “Vivienne Jolie” after helping her mom produce The Outsiders on Broadway.
A Pitt source alleged that Jolie “has used the kids as a weapon against Brad … she has separated them from him,” but there’s evidence that the adult children are making their own decisions about their relationship with their father — and they choose not to see him. It’s led to “a dark cloud hanging over Brad’s head,” per an In Touch Weekly source.
“He can muzzle Angelina with his lawyers, but he can’t muzzle his own kids. They’ve stayed totally quiet so far, but at some point down the line, it’s very plausible that they’re going to want to tell their side of the story. There’s nothing to stop them from doing it.” That might be the day that Pitt finally regrets dragging on the court cases for years — he might realize how much it affected his kids.
