Angelina Jolie Tried to ‘Push Brad Pitt’s Buttons’ With Flashy Parenting Move, Insider Alleges
Brad Pitt supposedly thinks Angelina Jolie’s latest red carpet appearance was so much more than just a wholesome mother-son date night with their son Knox. According to an insider, Pitt thinks this was a deliberate and targeted decision by his estranged wife, designed to “push his buttons.”
“Brad finds it a bit coincidental that a judge signed off on the [Chateau] Miraval trial just days before Knox joined Angelina at the Governors Awards,” a source told Page Six, referencing a contentious part of the A-listers’ divorce. This month, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied Jolie’s attempts to have the case tossed. It was a win for Pitt, who’d supposedly like to see the case go to trial — even if a date isn’t until 2026.

“So he really questions her motive for bringing Knox,” the insider continued.
Jolie’s flashy outing marked the first time in three years that Knox Jolie-Pitt — who’s often considered the estranged couple’s most private child — walked a red carpet. In 2021, the 16-year-old accompanied his mom, and four siblings at the The Eternals UK Premiere.
Regardless of if the move was meant to “push Pitt’s buttons,” the mother and son looked stunning ahead of the 15th Governors Awards in Los Angeles, California. The Maleficent actress wowed in a gold vintage gown, and her plus one looked so grown up in a classic tuxedo and with what looked like a hint of a mustache.
If not for the heels Jolie likely had under her gown, we bet Knox would have towered over her. The teen has gotten so tall, and definitely had a few inches on his mom when they were spotted shopping over the summer.
Along with Knox, Jolie and Pitt share kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne. It seems Pitt has a strained (at best) relationship with most (if not all) of his kids ever since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 and alleged that Pitt had been physically abusive to her and the kids.
Several kids have taken steps that will likely cement the rift between them and their dad — going so far as to drop “Pitt” from their last name. After turning 18 in May, Shiloh filed paperwork to change her name from “Shiloh Jolie-Pitt” to “Shiloh Jolie.” Vivienne and Zahara have also publicly (though seemingly not legally) dropped “Pitt.”
Pitt has been pretty mum about those slights, but we have to imagine those “push his buttons” as well.
