Angelina Jolie's Daughter Scores Major Victory in Distancing Herself From Dad Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie's daughter is officially Shiloh Jolie now, dropping "Pitt" from her last name after her request was granted by the court.
Shiloh initially requested to change her last name, leaving behind the hyphenated addition of her father Brad Pitt's surname, only three days after she turned 18 on May 27.
According to TMZ, the court finally approved the request without a hearing, making the name change official.
While Shiloh appears to be the first of Jolie and Pitt's kids to make the name change legal, some of her siblings have dropped their father's last name during less official engagements.
Shiloh's sister, Zahara, caught fans' attention in late 2023 for introducing herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" during a sorority ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, while Jolie's other daughter Vivienne had her name written as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for the Broadway play The Outsiders, which she worked on with her mother.
Vivienne and Jolie went on to attend the Tony Awards together, with The Outsiders winning the awards for Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Sound Design and Best Lighting Design.
Along with Shiloh, her siblings, Maddox, Pax and Zahara, are also all over 18 years old, but it's unclear if they have made any moves to legally change their last name. Both Vivienne and her twin brother, Knox, are still underage.
Aside from Shiloh's major news, the family faced recent difficulties, as Pax was involved in an accident while riding his electric bike in Los Angeles, Calif., at the end of July.
He was hospitalized and put in the ICU, with Jolie reportedly by his side throughout the ordeal. People reported that Pax was released from the ICU on Aug. 5, but he allegedly sustained a head injury, among others, and will continue his recovery.
Neither Jolie nor Pitt have publicly commented on Pax's accident or Shiloh's name change.
