“He (Vanga) has one or two scenes ready”: Ranbir Kapoor on Animal Park
In a recent conversation with Anubhav Singh Bassi, Ranbir Kapoor spilled some beans on the much-anticipated sequel, tentatively titled Animal Park. During the discussion, the actor shed light on the secrecy surrounding the plot of the film during its production phase.
He revealed, “Bobby (Deol) sir had no idea about the story. Anil (Kapoor) sir knew the father-son story. But there were many aspects where Sandeep was very secretive about his script. Regarding Animal Park, he (Vanga) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting.”
Furthermore, the revelation of Vanga’s confidence to delve even darker and deeper into the storyline for the sequel adds a layer of anticipation for fans. Kapoor expressed, “Now, because of the success of part one, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper and more complex. He can do anything.”
Before Animal’s release on Netflix, Sandeep Reddy Vanga teased fans that the OTT debut would feature nine minutes removed from its theatrical cut. Additionally, Bobby Deol playfully suggested that an edited ‘kiss’ between his character, Abrar, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Vijay might find its way back into the story.
However, the much-anticipated additional footage did not materialize in the streaming release, leaving fans slightly disappointed. On the whole, Netflix’s decision to CBFC-approve cuts and forego unrated versions meant that Vanga’s envisioned 3-hour and 30-minute version did not see the light of day on the streaming platform.
