Anitta Performs Party-Ready Medley With DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, and Tiago PZK at 2024 MTV VMAs
Anitta took to the MTV stage for her third year, performing “Savage Funk,” off her latest album Funk Generation, and “Alegria,” a single with Tiago PZK and Emilia that dropped in August. The singer also performed “Paradise” alongside Fat Joe, DJ Khaled, and Tiago PZK.
When “Paradise” was complete, Fat Joe shouted out Anitta as the “Queen of Brazil” just as she proved his point while launching into the second portion of the performance, “Alegria.” The singer performed on a multi-level structure on the stage before dropping to the floor in a killer choreography break with a crew of dancers following her lead. She closed out the performance with “Savage Funk.”

The first Brazillian to win a VMA trophy in 2022, Anitta is also up for her third consecutive “Best Latin” nomination, with two nominations in that category among her total of three nods this year.
Last year, Anitta sang “Funk Rave” and “Used to Be” at the VMAs — and later joined Tomorrow X Together for a performance of their collaborative track, “Back for More.”
Anitta released her album Funk Generation on April 26. A Rolling Stone review of the LP remarked that the album “thrives when Anitta takes risks” and adds that the singer “has what it takes to pioneer the future of baile funk in pop, and to captivate audiences both in Brazil and around the world.”
The star is set to make NFL history when she headlines the league’s first-ever match-up in Brazil on Sept. 6. Anitta will perform during the game’s halftime between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles, which will take place at Corinthians’ Neo Química Arena in S?o Paulo.
“Growing up in Brazil has completely shaped my journey as an artist and, of course, as a person,” Anitta said in a statement. “It means everything to be able to perform in S?o Paulo at the NFL’s first game in Brazil, where I can bring fans around the world the excitement and joy of our amazing culture.”
