Anjelica Huston responds to backlash over scathing interview dragging Oprah, Bill Murray: 'I hope they come back at me'
Anjelica Huston stands by every word she said in her now-infamous Vulture interview.
During a chat Wednesday on Andy Cohen’s radio show, the John Wick 3 actress, 67, was asked about that interview — the one where she dissed Oprah, Bill Murray, Diane Keaton and Robert De Niro and said she’d still work with Woody Allen. She also talked about ex Jack Nicholson’s cocaine use, being there when Roman Polanski was arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl and gave her thoughts on #MeToo.
“Oh my god — I had no idea” the interview was going to get so much attention, she told Cohen. “It must be a very slow news week is all I have to say.”
While she was admittedly “surprised it was as loud a noise as it was,” she said that she hoped she hadn’t “hurt anyone’s feelings.”
“And if I did, I hope they come back at me,” she added.
Huston said she felt like most of the topics were already addressed in her books anyway, including A Story Lately Told: Coming of Age in Ireland, London, and New York and Watch Me: A Memoir.
“I can’t say I felt that I was saying anything that was wildly out of place, because most of the things are in my books anyway,” she said. “Most of that stuff had been said once already about five years ago.”
She ended with, “I hope I didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings — I didn’t mean to.”

Jacki Weaver, who appears with Keaton in the film Pom, which Huston dissed as an “an old-lady cheerleader movie,” had fired back at Huston after the Vulture interview, saying that she “can go f*** herself.” Weaver said she thought it was “mean and petty,” so as “an admirer of Anjelica” she was “kind of disappointed.”
