Anna Delvey Demands 'On-Air Correction' From 'The View's Whoopi Goldberg: 'Get Your Facts Straight'

Anna Delvey is airing out her grievances with talk show host Whoopi Goldberg.

Following her recent—and highly controversial—casting on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, Delvey had some choice words for her nonbelievers, which apparently include Goldberg, 68.

It was during the Thursday, Sept. 5 episode of The View when Goldberg gave her two cents on the ex-con artist being chosen as one of the stars for DWTS Season 33, stating at one point during the heated conversation, "She still owes people money."

"I don't know why she gets to stay [in the U.S.]," the EGOT winner, 68, further lamented.

In case you need a refresher, Delvey, also known as Anna Sorokin, is still under house arrest following convictions of grand larceny and theft after she stole an estimated $275,000 in a years-long scheme of pretending to be a German heiress.

She was sentenced to four to 12 years in state prison, though she was released early in 2021, before being taken into ICE custody for overstaying her visa. She was later released on house arrest in October 2022, and has since obtained special permission from ICE to compete on DWTS.

But even with her controversial past—and the ankle monitor on her leg—Delvey will be competing for this year's Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, and she has some strong feelings about Goldberg's disapproval of her casting.

Releasing a statement to Page Six after the episode of The View aired on Thursday, Delvey said, "While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and paid everyone back in full three-plus years ago."

She then left Goldberg and the rest of The View co-hosts with a stern message: "Looking forward to your on-air correction. Stay nasty, ladies, but don't forget to vote Sept. 17!"

Regardless of how the public feel about it, Delvey will be one of the stars taking the ballroom floor during the premiere of DWTS Season 33, alongside her pro partner Ezra Sosa—and of course, her ankle monitor.
