Anna Delvey, Wearing Ankle Monitor, Makes Debut in Shimmering Fringe Dress for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Promo Look

Anna Delvey has been announced as a cast member for the 33rd season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” which debuts on Sept. 17. Delvey, who gained notoriety after the dramatization of her life story in Netflix’s “Inventing Anna,” is under house arrest but has received special permission to participate in the show. Delvey has expressed a desire to move beyond the “fake heiress” narrative, previously telling WWD, “I’m trying to balance the two,” referring to how she manages her past and present persona.

In her promotional photo for the ABC competition series, Delvey dons a dazzling, sequin-covered minidress that shimmers. The formfitting dress, adorned with silver and gold fringe, added a touch of Old Hollywood glamour. The ensemble features thin spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline, blending elegance with showbiz extravagance.

However, the real showstopper in Delvey’s look is the black ankle monitor prominently displayed on her left leg, a stark reminder of her ongoing legal issues, juxtaposed with her gold strappy heels.

Rumors of Delvey’s participation in “Dancing With the Stars” circulated for months. Joining her on the cast is model Brooks Nader, who chose a bold, sheer black bodysuit for her promo photo. The bodysuit, adorned with intricate silver rhinestones that shimmer against the dark fabric, highlights the overall design. Long sleeves and a plunging neckline added a daring edge, while fringe detailing with sparkling silver threads around the hips added movement and playfulness. She joins a diverse lineup, including celebrities like Tori Spelling, Reginald VelJohnson and “The Bachelorette’s” Jenn Tran. Delvey is set to partner with professional dancer Ezra Sosa, while Nader will be dancing with Gleb Savchenko as they compete on the show.

Delvey’s life story gained renewed attention in 2022 with the release of “Inventing Anna,” starring Julia Garner. Despite her current house arrest in New York, Delvey has been granted permission to travel to Los Angeles for the show’s filming.

Known for her high-profile fashion choices since her court appearances in 2017, Delvy has showcased designs from Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham, Saint Laurent and Zara. Delvey joined forces with Kelly Cutrone last year to launch the OutLaw Agency, a fashion PR consultancy. The partnership was established after their collaborative fashion show, combining Delvey’s notoriety with Cutrone’s extensive industry experience in the fashion PR space.

Last June, Delvey collaborated with designer Shao Yang, featuring a Swarovski-encrusted ankle monitor in a custom Italian silk and wool dress she wore at an immigration hearing. Delvey previously praised Yang’s tailoring, telling WWD, “I like Shao’s stuff a lot. I wouldn’t be wearing it if I didn’t. In the end, it’s going to be on me. I’m very particular. I wouldn’t just put anything on.”
