Anna Kendrick Raps, Stuns the Fellas in 'Pitch Perfect' Teaser
Anna Kendrick seizes control of a singing battle by laying down some rhymes from Blackstreet's 1996 classic "No Diggity" in a new clip from Universal's upcoming "Pitch Perfect," released Thursday.
The film, scheduled to open Oct. 5, is based on a nonfiction novel by GQ editor Mickey Rapkin about competitive collegiate a capella groups. The adaptation is written by Kay Cannon and directed by Jason Moore.
Kendrick stars as Beca, a freshman who joins an all-girl singing group at the fictional Barden University.
In this clip, the ensemble, which includes Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp and Rebel Wilson, goes toe-to-toe with a group of boys for a battle of harmonies.
The girls start with Rihanna's "S&M," only to be interrupted by the boys singing Salt N Pepa's "Let's Talk About Sex."
Knapp counters with Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You," but seconds later the boys jump in with some Foreigner.
While the girls appear to be defeated, Kendrick then steps up with "No Diggity." Dr. Dre, featured on the original track, would be proud.
