Annaleigh Ashford Laments Subway Riders Who Wouldn't Give Up a Seat for Her at 9 Months Pregnant: 'Be a Good Neighbor'
The Broadway star is currently pregnant with her second baby with husband Joe Tapper
Taking the subway in New York City is always stressful, but Annaleigh Ashford had a particularly tough commute.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, Annaleigh Ashford, who is currently nine months pregnant with her second baby with husband Joe Topper, shared a selfie on her Instagram Stories as she commuted on the New York City subway.
Wearing a black tank top and big sunglasses, the actress, who recently starred in Broadway's Sweeney Todd, snapped a photo of herself standing on a crowded subway as she wrote over the image that no one offered her a seat or a pole to hold onto.
"Bananas. I am 9 months pregnant. Like gigantic belly and I got on a full train," Ashford began. "And no one will even offer me a pole to hold."

"I'm totally fine standing and can balance. But...what if I wasn't. People just live in their own world. Just a reminder to be a good neighbor and give at least a pole to hold to an older person or someone who may be in need."
"Again, I'm not in need. But you can't miss me," she concluded the post.
Ashford is also mom to son Jack, 8.
In 2016, Ashford and Tapper welcomed their first child on Sept. 8, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE exclusively at the time. “There are no words to describe our joy when we first met our Jack,” the couple told PEOPLE.
The pair, who tied the knot in 2013, confirmed they were expecting their first baby exclusively to PEOPLE in May 2016.
“We are so excited to be having a little boy,” Ashford said at the time. “Now we’ll finally have a place to put all of Joe’s St. Louis Cardinals memorabilia.”
Shortly after they wed, Ashford told The New York Times that her husband "has really magical eyes and an amazing face."
“Right away, he sparkled and smiled at me. When we are away from each other for a long time, I can always see his eyes," she said.
“We hung out that whole night, until the wee hours of morning,” Ashford added, recounting the first night they met. “I was always waiting to meet someone where it felt right, like the stars were aligned. I thought, ‘This is it.’ ”
