Anne Hathaway Wears Thigh-High Black Versace Boot in First Appearance Since Announcing ‘Princess Diaries 3’
More from Footwear News
Though Anne Hathaway may have been trying to keep things low key while at a screening for “The Apprentice” last night in New York, the star stood out. Fresh off announcing that “Princess Diaries 3” is in the works (in addition to the previously reported “Devil Wears Prada” sequel) she went all black in all Versace for her night out.
Styled by Karla Welch, Hathaway opted for some of the tallest leather boots she could find. The style is Versace’s Texano boot. It is is a thigh grazing style that was previously seen in one of the brand’s fashion shows. Crafted of smooth calf leather, it includes Goodyear construction. A Western-inspire boot, the shoe also includes detachable stirrups that feature the company’s Medusa logo.
The brand has sold out of the thigh-high style with its short block heel but it was available for $2,125.
The choice puts her squarely on the pulse of the ongoing western trend. Beyonce has been one of the leaders of that effort wearing multiple cowboy boots including a Versace pair. She wore that vintage shoe, which featured gold Medusa embellishments, to the iHeartRadio Music awards earlier this year.
Recently, at Paris Fashion Week, even Emily Ratajkowski picked up on the trend and wore slick black leather boots from a Paris Texas collaboration with photographer Nadia Lee Cohen. That shoe was designed to elevate the Western boot design.
Outside of boots, Yung Miami got in on the overarching Western trend while filming for the second season of her show “Caresha Please.” For it, she wore a pair of strappy stiletto sandals featuring fringe as well as silver and turquoise embellishments.
With her own look, Hathaway chose a full length coat from Versace featuring red and gold button detailing over a black leather minidress. She also carried the italian brand’s Kleio shoulder bag.
