Anthony Edwards Inks Multi-Year Deal With Adidas Reportedly Worth Eight-Figures
Anthony Edwards has reportedly inked a multi-year endorsement deal with Adidas worth up to eight figures annually.
News of the contract first surfaced on Thursday (July 11) and was broken by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
“Minnesota Timberwolves All-NBA star Anthony Edwards has signed a multiyear contract extension with Adidas that sources say reaches eight figures annually. Significant new deal cements Edwards as a face of Adidas.”
Drafted No. 1 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2020 NBA Draft, Edwards signed with Adidas that same year, with the deal announced just after his second game played in the league. Edwards has since broken out as one of the brightest young stars in the NBA and a potential face of the league, both for his high-flying, athletic play and charismatic nature.
Earning his first NBA All-Star selection in 2023, Edwards followed up that campaign with his best season to date, as he was named an All-Star for the second consecutive year, was an MVP candidate and was named to the All-NBA Second Team.
The 22-year-old also led his Minnesota Timberwolves squad to their first Western Conference Finals berth in two decades, but was defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in five games, ending his squad’s season.
Edwards’ big contract comes as he looks to help lead Team USA Basketball to an Olympic Gold medal this summer. In their first exhibition game leading up to the Olympics, Team USA defeated Canada 86-72, with Edwards leading the way with a game and team high 13 points.
