Anthony Edwards, Justin Jefferson Finally Recreate This Iconic Sports Photo
Anthony Edwards and Justin Jefferson are both at the top of their game, so it’s only right that they were able to recreate this iconic photo.
On Tuesday (Oct. 22), ESPN released their latest cover story featuring the NBA and NFL stars, respectively, with the photo being a direct nod to legends Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett. Edwards and Jefferson rocked designer shades for their cover, but just as the Minnesota greats did before them, the duo showed respect to each other by donning each other’s jerseys. Behind the scenes of the cover story’s photoshoot showed Jefferson and Edwards bonding and cracking jokes, so much so, you wouldn’t even be able to tell that they went to rival SEC colleges.
The two quipped about possibly playing each other’s sport and what positions they’d play. Ant-Man asserted that he would be as big as the Baltimore Raven’s star runningback, Derrick Henry, if he hit the gym because right now he’s “lowkey fat for real.” BossMan Dlow’s “Get In With Me” could be heard soundtracking the visual experience, with the stars going aura for aura as they tried on outfits, flashed their grills, and debated about sports, of course.

Meanwhile, the article component to the story followed the superstar’s eventual rise to become the new faces of Minnesota sports. ESPN’s story also explores the similarities between the two men, such as attending SEC colleges before being drafted into the NBA and the NFL in 2020. Regardless of the drip, the swag, and the talk about Randy and Kevin, the two spoke longingly about bringing a championship to Minnesota in their respective sports.
As for the original photo, well, it was initially shot for Sport Magazine—a publication that sadly no longer exists. Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett posed during the photo shoot as they were asked for the zine. But then Randy had an idea—he wondered what the energy and the look would be like if they switched jerseys. And, well, the result is one of the most iconic photos in Minnesota sports history.
