A$AP Rocky and Puma to Receive Collaboration of Year Honor at Footwear News Achievement Awards
A$AP Rocky and Puma are in lock step with Footwear News as the leading shoe industry trade publication has plucked the pair to receive top honors at its upcoming Footwear News Achievement Awards.
Scheduled to take place at New York’s Cipriani South Street on Dec. 4, the awards event, now in its 38th installment, is often lovingly referred to as the “Shoe Oscars.” It sees brands, boldfaced names and big moments singled out for impact in the footwear industry. A$AP Rocky x Puma will be feted as collaboration of the year, and the rapper and fashion icon will be on hand to accept the trophy in person.

“We’ve been working hard together on developing product that speaks to me and my culture and blurs the lines between motorsport, streetwear and fashion,” Rocky said in a statement. “It’s been an exciting challenge, and I’m really happy with how my designs and creative interpretations have come to life. Puma has given me the keys to push the boundaries, and I’m immensely grateful for their trust. This is just the beginning,”
In a series of releases this year, A$AP Rocky and Puma delivered multiple sell-out distressed versions of the Inhale sneaker and a 3D-printed edition of the Mostro shoe. He also seems to thrive in a Puma household as his significant other, Rihanna, also has deep ties to the shoe brand with her Fenty x Puma collaborations.
“In the highly competitive collaborations market, this unique pairing truly stands out,” said Michael Atmore, chief brand officer of Fairchild Media Group and editorial director of Footwear News. “Reaching across the worlds of sports, music and pop culture, A$AP Rocky’s powerful influence and artistry combined with Puma’s strong focus on creating must-have product makes for a perfect match. We are thrilled to honor Puma and Rocky at the Footwear News Achievement Awards.”
Additional announcements on the FNAA winners and talent will be revealed in the coming days.
