A$AP Rocky Takes Inspiration From Night Racing in Latest Puma Drop
More from Footwear News
A$AP Rocky’s latest drop with Puma is here.
After hitting the market in late September with the striking Mostro 3D-printed shoe, Rocky is back with a new colorway of the silhouette — along with two fresh colors of the Puma Inhale sneaker in a night-racing inspired collection spanning footwear, apparel and accessories.
The latest Mostro 3D is a monster come to life in an all-new black and neon green colorway with spikey details. In addition to this highly anticipated style, Rocky is restocking his take on the Inhale Sneaker, which has been re-engineered with an allover distressed treatment and custom embroidery.
Handpicked from the archive, this version of the Inhale Distressed was inspired by night racing and neon lights and has mesh and neoprene uppers. Both the Inhale sneakers and the full collection pieces feature high-speed racing graphics and classic A$AP Rocky and Puma branding.
“We continue to push the limits and elevate our game with this collection,” A$AP Rocky said in a statement. “We have been working on these pieces for a long time and I’m especially excited to drop the second edition of our staple pieces – the racing suit and Balaclava set. I am also excited to get the toolbox bags out that we debuted at the AWGE fashion show, and have proven to be a fan favorite.”
Since Rocky joined Puma late last year as the creative director for the brand’s F1 partnership, the rapper has incorporated motorsport design elements across all of his offerings. And with the rising popularity of F1 in the U.S., the timing of this buzzy partnership couldn’t be better.
In September, Rocky took to the streets of New York to celebrate his ongoing collection with Puma.
For the event, the rapper hosted an intimate group of friends of the brand for a private collection preview, after which, Rocky led the crowd through the streets of New York to The Blond for celebratory cocktails.
A$AP Rocky x Puma’s newest night racing-inspired collection is available now globally on Puma.com, Puma retail stores and select retailers. Later this afternoon, Rocky will host a special event to shop the collection at Puma’s flagship store in New York City at 609 5th Avenue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entry is free.
