'The Bachelor,' 'Dancing With the Stars' Get New Spinoffs at ABC
The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars continue to get bigger.
ABC has ordered new spinoffs for the 2017-18 television season from its two most popular reality franchises, the network announced Tuesday ahead of its Upfront presentation in New York City.
Going up against the Winter Olympics, ABC will debut The Bachelor Winter Games in February 2018, which will follow Bachelor and Bachelorette favorites ("from arch rivals to villains") as they compete in winter-themed athletic challenges -- all while living together at a "luxurious" winter resort.

Of course, it being a Bachelor spinoff and all, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Bachelor and Bachelorette alums going head-to-head in the name of love!
Not to be outdone, Dancing With the Stars will bring a kid version of the celebrity dance competition, titled Dancing With the Stars Junior, scheduled for a spring 2018 launch.
Like the flagship series, Dancing With the Stars Junior will pair celebrity kids and children of celebrities with professional junior ballroom dancers for choreographed routines in various genres. A panel of ballroom experts will serve as judges, which ABC will announce at a later date.

This isn't the first time both franchises will have spinoffs. For The Bachelor universe, the Winter Olympics-themed series is just the latest in a slew of offerings, which has included The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Bachelor in Paradise: After the Paradise, Bachelor Live and Freeform spinoffs centered on past contestants (Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, The Twins: Happily Ever After).
For Dancing With the Stars, the upcoming Junior edition comes years after ABC launched Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann in 2008, which lasted one season, and debuted a figure skating spinoff, Skating With the Stars in 2010, that similar lasted one cycle.
