Love is in the air on Riverdale!

On this week's all-new episode of the dark CW drama, fans were treated to not one, but two romantic revelations: Cheryl and Toni shared their first kiss, while Alice showed up on FP's doorstep for a little alone time. (We can practically hear your Choni cries of delight and your Falice-loving squeals!)

To celebrate these new relationship milestones, ET caught up with the Riverdale cast and we've got the exclusive behind-the-scenes story from Madelaine Petsch about why Cheryl and Toni's first kiss was a "disgusting," yet hilarious on-set moment. Plus, M?dchen Amick and Skeet Ulrich get brutally honest about how "awkward" it could be for Alice and FP to start dating while their kids, Betty and Jughead, are currently in a relationship.

While Cheryl was forced to undergo gay conversion therapy at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy in Wednesday's episode, Toni was determined to break her crush out of the nun's hateful clutches. After teaming up with Veronica, Toni successfully rescued Cheryl and the two young women shared a sweet, yet passionate first kiss.

It was a truly swoonworthy moment to watch onscreen, but according to Petsch, the real-life moment with Vanessa Morgan on set was hilariously less romantic.

"I actually have a really funny story," the redheaded beauty dished to our cameras at PaleyFest in Los Angeles on Sunday. "So I'm, like, sobbing in that scene before she comes, right? This is so disgusting, but I had snot dripping out of my nose. I didn’t have time to wipe it, so this girl was, like, eating my snot. It was, like, in her mouth and after every take, I'd be like, 'Sorry!'"

"Good thing [Vanessa and I] are best friends because otherwise I think she would disown me at this point," Petsch added with a laugh.

So what's it really like to have an onscreen makeout sesh with your best friend for one of TV's buzziest dramas? "I mean, it's less weird than kissing someone you don’t know," Petsch answered candidly. "I mean, I'd rather kiss my best friend than kiss some random guy. I just feel like we were more comfortable. We laughed about it just for a second and then we were like, 'OK, let's do it!' And now it's not weird at all."

And while Cheryl and Toni's relationship began to bloom, it appears that FP and Alice might be rekindling their former flame. In one of the final scenes of the episode, Alice – who was dressed in a very serpent-inspired outfit – showed up on the doorstep of FP's trailer, and the once-upon-a-couple exchanged chemistry-charged glances before slowly shutting the door.

"She happens to show up at somebody's doorstep to get a little something, something," Amick said coyly when asked about Alice's intentions with FP in that final scene. "A little serpent love maybe in a trailer."

Meanwhile, Ulrich maintains that the two adults were merely getting together to "drink coffee" and engage in "deep conversations" with one another.

Regardless of what exactly went down in that trailer, there's one thing the two Riverdale actors can both agree on: things would get pretty "awkward" if FP and Alice were to start dating due to the fact that their kids are also romantically involved.

"Yeah, I think that's pretty weird," Ulrich chuckled. "But I think that's what the show likes to embrace -- things that are a little off."

"It's a bit awkward," Amick agreed, "but nobody's related! I think it would be funny to see the four of them come to the breakfast table in the morning and see how awkward that would be."

What do you think, Riverdale fans? Would it be "weird" for FP and Alice to start dating? And who else loved Petsch's on-set tale about Choni's first kiss? Share your thoughts with @LeanneAguilera on Twitter!

Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
