'Scandal' or the White House? We compare the Oval Offices

If that desk could talk, well, it would have some very scandalous — for lack of a better word — stories. But what about this other desk:

Sorry, Scandal fans, but President Fitzgerald Grant hasn’t found his way to his feet just yet. Rather, Tony Goldwyn just posted a picture in the actual Oval Office — you know, the one where Barack Obama spends his days? I know, it’s hard to tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not, but that’s why I’m here.

So how do the Oval Offices differ? Not surprisingly, the television Oval Office is actually much prettier. There are more side tables and general accents, and thankfully, those oddly green suede coaches Obama has didn’t make it into Shondaland. And obviously, Mellie opted for yellow curtains instead of red ones, but that could have to do with the fact that, on Scandal, the walls aren’t yellow. Also, sorry Obama, but I’m going to say it: Fitz’s chair is bigger than yours.

In general, it seems Fitz is a bigger fans of lamps, which is ironic for all the things he tries to hide in that office. And carpet-wise, Fitz went with blue, while Obama kept things a little more muted. Or perhaps Fitz was going for something fluffier in fear that he might one day be kneeling on it?

However, the biggest question remains: What’s the camera situation in real life, and could Olivia and Fitz still make out by the windows?
