The Apprentice Trailer Gives First Look at Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump

StudioCanal has released the first trailer for The Apprentice, and it shows the first extended look at Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump.

After months of headlines, it’s hard to believe this is the first official promotional footage of the film. But the Donald Trump biopic avoids a legal shut down by the former US President’s lawyers and is on track to hit theatres 11 October 2024.

As per the synopsis, “The origins of Donald Trump are brought to life in a provocative, electrifying portrait of the man and his mentor, Roy Cohn – a notorious lawyer who will never let the truth get in the way of winning a fight. Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong star as Trump and Cohn respectively, with Maria Bakalova starring as Ivana Trump and acclaimed director Ali Abbasi (Border, Holy Spider) bringing a unique perspective to this gripping, darkly funny tale of greed, power and the dark art of the deal.”

The trailer shows Stan giving a subtle Trump impersonation, which is much more toned down than many people might have expected. This is an early Trump, however, before he became the controversial and cartoonish figure is he today.

We’ll see how he changes over the course of the film as he’s taken under the wing by Cohn. “You’re Roy Cohn?” asks Stan. “Guilty as charged,” says Strong. “You’re brutal,” replies Trump, with a degree of admiration in his voice. Watch the trailer below.
