Ariana Grande posts about anxiety, returns engagement ring to Pete Davidson
Ariana Grande has yet to address her breakup directly, but she may have just hinted at it on social media.
The “No More Tears Left to Cry” singer, who called off her engagement to Pete Davidson over the weekend, shared a post Tuesday about having anxiety. On her Instagram Story, Grande wrote, “Can’t believe i almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today !!! not today satan ! not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d*** [heart emoji] finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye.”
Davidson has remained quiet about their split, deactivating his Instagram account once again. The Saturday Night Live star pulled out of a scheduled comedy gig Wednesday night due to “personal reasons.” TMZ reports Grande, 25, returned her 3-carat, $100,000 engagement ring to Davidson, but that she will keep their adopted pet pig, Piggy Smallz.
The 24-year-old comedian popped the question to Grande in June, about a month after they began dating. Although the couple enjoyed their summer of love, things appeared to take a turn in September, after the unexpected death of the singer’s ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. Grande was devastated over the news and has been taking time to heal away from the spotlight.
Although the pair’s split may have seemed sudden, a source told People that Davidson and Grande went through rough patches during their five-month romance.
“They put on this front of being so happy, but there were lots of fights and struggles behind the scenes,” a source close to the singer tells the magazine. “They’ve gotten into arguments and broken up before and got back together.”
A source close to Davidson cautions this might not be the end of the road for the couple. “It’s definitely a fresh breakup, but they totally could get back together, because who knows with those two?”
