'Arrow': 5 things you need to remember
Last season of Arrow ended with a bang.
Literally.
The season-long battle between Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase/Prometheus (Josh Segarra) ended where Oliver’s journey began — on the island of Lian Yu. Knowing he could never fight Prometheus on his own, Oliver brought together all of Team Arrow to face him. He even went as far as to recruit his old ally-turned-enemy Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), recently cured of the Mirakuru serum.
But the final battle was a bit of a good news/bad news situation…
Good News: “Olicity” shippers were given new hope when Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) let Oliver know she regretted too much about their relationship to let him go without one last kiss.
Bad News: Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) sacrificed his life for his daughter, Thea (Willa Holland), taking her place on a landmine before Captain Boomerang arrived with Prometheus’s allies.
Good News: Prometheus is Dead!
Bad News: And, so is basically everybody else…
In his defiant final act, Prometheus killed himself — activating a dead man’s switch that set off bombs spread across Lian Yu, with Oliver and his son, William, the only confirmed survivors. We’re certain someone else survived (this is a CW show after all), but we won’t know until tonight.
There’s one thing we can be sure of: Oliver will say “failed this city” at least a dozen times before this season is over.
Arrow Season 6 premieres Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
