Art the Clown set to return in 'Terrifier 3' this October: 'I don't want people fainting'
Two years after "Terrifier 2" induced vomiting and fainting, director Damien Leone announced the third film in his horror series will again hit U.S. theaters during the spookiest month of the year.
"Terrifier 3," which follows Art the Clown, played by actor David Howard Thornton, is expected to be released October 11, according to IMDB.
"Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve," the film's synopsis on IMDB says.
The second film cost $250,000 to create but in 2023 it made $11 million domestically and another $4 million internationally, Deadline reported.
“We’re so excited to bring the next Terrifier to theaters this fall just in time for the Halloween season,” producer Phil Falcone told Deadline. “'Terrifier 3' will deliver everything the fans expect and more with Art the Clown taking things to the next level. We can’t thank our fans enough for their support and for making us believe we’ve made something truly special.”
'Terrifier 2' made moviegoers throw up, faint
Some people who saw "Terrifier 2" when the film dropped in the U.S. on Oct. 6, 2022, had memorable experiences, which included fellow moviegoers puking and passing out.
One X user posted on Oct. 9, 2022, that his "friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance" after they viewed "Terrifier 2" together.

TJ Bark, another X user, shared a post on Oct. 7, 2022, saying, "Just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gory mess."
Bark went on to detail how a guy behind him "passed out cold" and crashed into his chair, while another guy left the theater because "he didn't feel good." He then recalled overhearing the guy who walked out of the theater "puking hard and loud in the bathroom," according to the social media post.
"I loved the movie," Bark said in another X post. "It was a long one but it never felt dragged on. The gore was plentiful and great. This movie will be a Classic Horror film and it’ll be the start (for many people) of a very special and long journey with Art The Clown."

"Listen, I would have loved to have a couple of walk-outs, I think that's sort of a badge of honor because it is an intense movie," Leone said. "I don't want people fainting, getting hurt during the movie. But it's surreal."
