Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer and Danny Huston are prepping one historical whodunit. The three actors have been cast in a new murder mystery titled The Artist, which will make its debut on the ad-supported streamer The Network, TVLine has confirmed.

The seven-episode limited series set in the Gilded Age follows “an ensemble of the era’s celebrities including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas and Evelyn Nesbit” as they meet at the home of “an eccentric and failing tycoon,” reads the logline. But by night’s end, the tycoon is found dead, sparking a murder mystery that will keep all of the guests on their toes.

The Artist is currently filming on location in Connecticut, and is set to premiere in March of next year.

“The way we make television has changed,” said The Network founder Aram Rappaport, who also serves as creator, executive producer, writer and director on the series. “I believe it is a fundamental truth that artists should hold the keys to their craft and creativity. This series in collaboration with the cast and crew has proven there is a hunger to explore new frontiers in an episodic format, where actors have freedom to challenge themselves and take risks. This is something I believe we could only have been able to greenlight at The Network. I created a platform to push the boundaries of storytelling, and now we actually get to do it! How lucky are we?”

Patinkin is an Emmy-winning actor who has starred in Homeland, Dead Like Me, Chicago Hope and Criminal Minds. His most recent TV project, Death and Other Details, was cancelled after just one season.

McTeer is best known for KAOS and Ozark, while Huston’s credits include Yellowstone, Succession and American Horror Story.
