Arts, Beats & Eats announces 2024 music lineup with Cheap Trick, Tesla, Keith Sweat, more
Rock bands Cheap Trick, Tesla, Chevelle and Gin Blossoms, along with country singer Dustin Lynch and R&B veteran Keith Sweat, will headline the 2024 installment of Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats presented by Flagstar.
Producers of the annual Labor Day weekend festival unveiled details Wednesday as the event heads toward its latest four-day presentation in Royal Oak, Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.
Those national headliners will lead an eight-stage lineup also featuring hundreds of metro Detroit performers, including AB&E staples such as Thornetta Davis and Your Generation in Concert. The full daily entertainment schedule for the festival, formally named Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats presented by Flagstar Bank, is below.
Organizers also confirmed the return of House of Dank's cannabis retail and consumption area, Dank Way. Last year, AB&E became the first major Michigan event — and one of the first in the U.S. — to offer a dedicated, authorized cannabis use space.
Food options or the "Eats" portion of the annual festival has a vast selection of cuisine, from barbecue to ethnic favorites to plenty of sweets and drinks.
“Festivalgoers should prepare their taste buds for an unforgettable culinary adventure at this year’s event,” said Jon Witz, Arts, Beats & Eats producer in announcing the line up of food vendors. “With an irresistible lineup of culinary delights, we offer something for every palate, from sizzling savory dishes to decadent sweet treats. Join us this Labor Day weekend for a feast that celebrates the very best in culinary creativity and excellence.”
Nearly 50 vendors with offerings from a diverse mix of metro Detroit area restaurants, food trucks and caterers are lined up for the event.
New options this year include several Royal Oak-based restaurants. North End Taproom will pair its self-pour taps with scratch menu items. Cafe De Olla, which shares a downtown space with Cafe Muse, brings authentic Mexican fare to the festival and Noorjahan Cuisine offers Indian cuisine with western flare.
Through a collaboration with Baker College, two students are teaming up with chef Luigi Cutraro of Trattoria Da Luigi and another student is working with the festival.
Famous Dave's and its barbecue options return to the festival after a hiatus and House of Barbecue is also on hand with its southern-style barbecue.Ethnic cuisine offerings include Fork in Nigeria with Nigerian cuisine and Estia Greek Truck with authentic Greek street food.Returning favorites are Cousins Maine Lobster offering lobster rolls and lobster tacos, Galindo's with Mexican street tacos and Wing Snob with chicken wings.
