Ashanti Gets “Real” While Breast Pumping During Workout
Ashanti plays double duty at the gym in a clip shared on social media.
The new mom uploaded footage to Instagram flexing her multitasking skills as she prepared to pump breast milk while working out.
“So, it just got real,” explained the R&B singer while giving a glimpse at the breast pump device attached to her bosom in the clip, via ET. The caption notes that the fitness session is her third day back in the gym. “I gotta finish this before I hop on the Stairmaster.”
She continued, “By any means necessary”, with the caption detailing that she had to keep pumping without pausing her routine. Additional clips highlight floor exercises and mirror selfies of “KK’s mama.”

Ashanti and rapper Nelly welcomed their first child together on July 18, naming the infant Kareem Kenkaide Haynes.
“His dad named him with a lot of pride,” revealed the “Happy” singer. “We were going back and forth for a long time on his name and he was very adamant. He was like, ‘This is what I want, I love this.’”
She continued to detail, “I thought it was just so amazing and so thoughtful and so sweet because Kenkaide is my dad’s name and obviously my dad has only girls, so Nelly was just like, ‘I think that would be really dope.’ This was all his idea.”
The two lovers reconnected in 2023 following their initial breakup in 2013 after dating for a decade. The rekindled romance has led to the bouncing baby boy and marriage for the two musicians.
