Ashley Parker Angel (‘The Masked Singer’ S’more) is ‘a little upset’ he was eliminated and reveals the clue that tipped Jenny off [Exclusive Video Interview]
“You gotta be a little bit upset that you didn’t get to the next round,” says actor and musician Ashley Parker Angel while discussing his time as S’more on “The Masked Singer.” The former O-Town boybander was eliminated on episode 8 following a “Disco Night” performance of “That’s the Way (I Like It)” by KC and the Sunshine Band. “You start getting competitive,” he admits. “But I’m rooting for my group. Cow and Gazelle, I think it’s gonna be one of those two that win.” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior Denton Davidson above.
When deciding on his song selection each week, Ashley was particular about what would appeal to most audience members. “I wanted it to feel fun,” he explains. “I wanted to pick crowd favorites. For me, ‘That’s the Way I Like It’ is my favorite disco song ever. With ‘Slow Hands,’ doing a song by Niall [Horan] from One Direction was kind of a cool nod back to my boyband past. Everyone always said Niall looked like he could be my younger brother, so I thought that was a fun nod back to the boyband years.”

While panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg was able to guess Ashley’s identity, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were all stumped. The singer was most surprised Robin didn’t guess him and breaks his silence on what exactly he was doing at the “Blurred Lines” singer’s house. “He had a studio in his house,” Ashley describes. “There were a lot of artists that were always going through Robin’s house, including some house parties [and songwriting sessions]. He still didn’t get it! I was surprised.”
Jenny was able to put the clues together when she saw dumbbells in S’more’s video package. “In the last few years I started an online fitness coaching company,” Ashley explains. “On my social media I focus a lot on my fitness journey. I think that was the clue that really tipped her off.”
