In the news was first reported by Time, Kutcher sent a letter to Thorn’s board on Sept 14 saying how “the responsible thing for me to do is resign as Chairman of the Board, effectively immediately.”
In the letter, he said his actions were “yet another painful instance of questioning victims who are brave enough to share their experiences.” And he also claimed he and Kunis, have “spent several days of listening, personal reflection, learning, and conversations with survivors and the employees and leadership at Thorn.”

“I cannot allow my error in judgment to distract from our efforts and the children we serve,” he added.
This news comes after he and Kunis, along with two other That ‘70s Show stars, wrote letters asking for leniency in Masterson’s sentencing. For those who don’t know, Masterson was convicted for raping two women, serving a minimum of 30 years in prison.
Along with Kutcher stepping down as Chairman of the Board, Kunis stepped down from her position as an observer on the organization’s board.
The organization discussed is called Thorn, which is an anti-human trafficking organization that serves to protect children from sexual exploitation. Ever since the letters from Kutcher and Kunis hit the internet, many have called for him to step down from this organization, and just as many have rejoiced in him doing so.
However, one of the brave women who came forward in the Masterson trial said this wasn’t enough, and she claimed she and the other women hadn’t received an apology from Kutcher or Kunis. She tweeted, “Wow. But still not a single, solitary apology to Chrissie, Jen, and myself. Ashton and Mila, you are breathtakingly fraudulent beings. Keep learning I guess,” and added: “or an apology to ALL of Danny’s victims. How about that. There are many. And they all matter.”
