Ava Sambora Is Genetically Predisposed to Being Swimsuit-Ready, Thanks to Mom Heather Locklear

Ava Sambora is ready for her modeling contract.
These days the modeling biz is flooded with celebrity kids ready for their close-ups — and Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora’s only daughter is ready to join the club. The blonde, who is 18, was snapped Monday during a beachside photo shoot in Malibu. She’s apparently a new pitchwoman for 138 Water, a brand — which is enjoyed by celebrities including Justin Bieber — known for racier ads, like one with water being poured down a model’s bikini bottoms.

As for Ava, the fresh-faced teen’s job description was a step up from that, which is surely a relief to mom and dad. She made several outfit swaps — mostly into different bikinis — as she mugged for the camera. With her wavy blond hair floating in the sea breeze, and her big grin, she clearly picked up some pointers from her famous mom — the ultimate California girl who was a G-rated pinup dream when she was about the same age.
Ava hasn’t been shy about her desire to become famous like Heather and Richie. “Ever since I was 5 or 6, I’ve wanted to be an actress,” she told Teen Vogue. “I loved attention and would always try to be onstage and in front of people. It was easy to figure out what I wanted to be.”

When Ava’s Bon Jovi rocker dad had a clothing line, White Trash Beautiful (with a name like that, how could it possibly have failed?), she walked the runway for the label in 2010. She made her acting debut in Judd Apatow’s This Is 40.
Many celebrity kids are riding on the coattails of their famous parents — right down the runway. Yesterday we saw the cover of Vogue Paris, which features Cindy Crawford and her daughter, Kaia Gerber. Last week, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon was revealed as a face of Stella McCartney’s Pop fragrance. Kardashians, Hadids, and Baldwins aside, Dylan Brosnan (son of Pierce), Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham (Victoria and David), Lily-Rose Depp (Johnny), and Rafferty and Iris Law (Jude) are also following in their parents’ footsteps.

Ava’s parents divorced in 2006 after 11 years of marriage, but — after some initial hiccups — they have been united in raising her. The family sometimes vacations together and joined forces to throw her a splashy Sweet 16 party in 2013. In January, Heather, who is now dating Dr. Marc Mani, even posted a throwback photo of herself sitting on Richie’s lap, writing, “Good memories.”
