‘Avengers’ Cast ‘Assembles’ to Make Bold Political Statement Ahead of Election
Several Avengers cast mates came together for an impromptu mission ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
In a new video, Scarlett Johansson is joined by fellow Marvel actors Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany for a video call "assembling" a plan before heading to the polls.

For the clip, the seven Hollywood stars brainstormed a catchphrase for their presidential pick—current vice president Kamala Harris—while passing on nods to their MCU characters like "Kamala forever," "Boom! You looking for this?" and "I can do this all day," before eventually landing on "Down with Democracy."
As the group hyped up their plan to try and "get out the vote," heroic music began playing over a montage of still images of Harris and vice presidential hopeful Tim Walz embodying a patriotic spirit during recent campaign rallies, debates and other public appearances.
The puns didn't stop there, as Ruffalo, who turns 57 later this month, uploaded the video to X alongside the caption: "We're back. Let's #AssembleForDemocracy. In the #ElectionEndgame, every vote counts #VoteBlue! Vote @KamalaHarris @Tim_Walz."
Johansson, who will be 40 on Nov. 22, alluded to the intentional nature of the playful nods while speaking with Vanity Fair about the making of the video.
"It just immediately turned into people trying to one-up each other with one-liners," she told the outlet.
"It’s very similar to what our dynamic is in the films. It was wonderful to feel everybody assemble around it, and hopefully it will engage our fans in the process of voting," Johansson, who is also credited with organizing the whole thing, added. "We’ve got a lot of powerful people on this thread, and it would be great to unite … in hopefully creating a bit of a viral moment for Kamala."
The clip, which has since gone viral as they hoped, came just days before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and is the latest installment of over-the-top celebrity endorsements the Harris-Walz campaign has received.
Other notable names to speak out in support of the duo include Taylor Swift, George Clooney, J.Lo, LeBron James, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Mariska Hargitay, Jennifer Aniston and Bruce Springsteen.
Meanwhile, Republican picks Donald Trump and JD Vance have also been backed by a number of familiar faces, including Buzz Aldrin, Dr. Phil and Dennis Quaid.
