AVLFest 2024: Second wave music acts announced for citywide festival: What to know
ASHEVILLE - Music fans, rejoice ― the full music line-up has been announced for the four-day citywide festival, AVLFest.
From Aug. 1-4, AVLFest, presented by Wicked Weed Brewing and Worthwhile Sounds, will return for its second annual run at venues across Asheville.
The festival producers have kept the public suspended in a state of anticipation by releasing the names of the performers in waves.
On March 22, the first wave was released with more than 160 acts including Papadosio, Beachwood Sparks, Town Mountain and Blitzen Trapper.
On May 8, the second and final wave was announced with more local, regional and national acts of various genres to round out the event.
The second-wave artists include Washed Out, The New Pornographers, Terminator X of Public Enemy, Langhorne Slim, Jessica Pratt, Brett Dennen, Scott McMicken & the Ever Expanding, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Randall Bramblett & The Megablasters, The Sadies, The Local Honeys, Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast, Abby Bryant, Victoria Victoria, Earthcry, Hank West & The Smokin' Hots, Natalie Brooke, Litz, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and Get Right Band.

"AVLFest will always support and embrace and lift up our local scene as much as possible. That will forever be our motto," Jeff Whitworth, founder and owner of Worthwhile Sounds, told the Citizen Times. "At the same time, like last year, it's a perfect blend of national touring acts and local bands."
Whitworth said AVLFest 2024 will have more than 20 stages at more and new venues, logistical improvements ― like compact shuttles and bike route maps ― and other enhanced guest experiences compared to the festival's inaugural year.
