It’s time to update your awards predictions at Gold Derby, because a major TV contender has just announced its strategy for the upcoming 2025 kudos. “Agatha All Along,” Disney Plus’ spin-off of “WandaVision” starring Kathryn Hahn as a centuries-old, sassy witch, will submit in the comedy categories at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and next year’s Emmys, per our sister site Variety. The show was originally designed to be a limited series with a beginning, middle, and end.

Two years ago, Hahn received nominations for “WandaVision” at the Emmys and Critics Choice Awards in the limited series races for playing Agnes The Nosy Neighbor, aka Agatha Harkness. The quirky song “Agatha All Along” by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, which won the Best Music & Lyrics Emmy, told the tale of how Agatha was actually responsible for everything that had happened in the fictional town of Westview.

Hahn’s character ended up being so popular that Marvel Television Studios and Disney+ soon ordered a spin-off centered entirely around her. And now, Agatha has a new song that’s sure to stick in your head: “Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” with the catchy lyrics, “Down, down, down the road, down the Witches’ Road.” Watch below:

“Agatha All Along” debuted on the streamer on September 18, 2024 and concluded with its ninth episode on October 30, 2024. Jac Schaeffer created the show, which also stars Joe Locke as Teen (no spoilers here!), Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer “Jen” Kale, Ali Ahn as Alice Wu-Gulliver, Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis, and Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu.

The awards switch from limited series to comedy series means “Agatha All Along” will now compete against programs such as “Hacks,” “The Bear,” “Only Murders in the Building,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Shrinking,” and “Palm Royale.”

And in the comedy actress race, Hahn’s competition will include leading ladies like Jean Smart (“Hacks”), Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”), Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Selena Gomez (“Only Murders in the Building”), Maya Rudolph (“Loot”), and Kristen Wiig (“Palm Royale”).

We know what you’re thinking: does all of this mean that “Agatha All Along” will return for a second season? Variety hypothesizes that today’s news “strongly indicates” the show “could continue beyond a single season.” There is no word yet from Marvel or Disney, but the way the final episode ended, there’s clearly more story to tell in these characters’ journeys.
