Ayo Edebiri (‘The Bear’): Emmys 2024 episode submission revealed

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Ayo Edebiri is entering “The Bear” episode “Sundae” as her 2024 Emmy Award submission for Best Comedy Actress. The episode aired on June 22, 2023, and is the third one of the second season of the FX series.

In this installment, after Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) bails on her for Claire (Molly Gordon), Sydney (Edebiri) spends the day sampling food across Chicago restaurants on her own and is inspired to create a pasta dish. When she returns to the The Bear, she is shocked to see that Carmy removed a wall without her input.

This is the second career nomination for Edebiri and first in this category. She won Best Comedy Supporting Actress last cycle for “The Bear’s” first season. Edebiri is nominated alongside Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Selena Gomez (“Only Murders in the Building”), Maya Rudolph (“Loot”), Jean Smart (“Hacks”) and Kristen Wiig (“Palm Royale”).

“The Bear” nabbed 23 nominations this year, setting a new record for the most nominations for a comedy in a single year.
