Buy these Baby Yoda toys, you must: First look at new 'Mandalorian' merchandise
Granted your wishes, Disney has. Since he was introduced in the debut of the hit Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian, Baby Yoda has conquered our hearts... and the entire internet. In the initial absence of officially-approved merchandise, an entire black market for Baby Yoda products sprang up on websites like Etsy. But the Mouse House is making up for lost time by giving the greenlight to a wave of products featuring the 50-year-old green infant from companies like Funko, Mattel and Buffalo Games. It’s worth noting that all of this new merch refer to the Mandalorian’s traveling companion as “The Child” instead of the more hashtag friendly (if canonically incorrect) Baby Yoda.
The vinyl wizards at Funko have two options for your Star Wars-lined bookshelves: a standard-sized Pop (for $12.99) or a 10” figure (for $29.99) that offers super-sized cuteness. Available for pre-order now on the official Disney store and Walmart, both of these collectibles will be available in Spring 2020.
If you want a Baby Yoda you can cuddle up with, Mattel will have one in stores as early as February. The toy company’s 11” plush doll retails for $24.99 and comes in special packaging modeled after his circular crib. Caveat emptor: You’ll have to do the levitating with your own two arms, not the Force.
According to Disney, more Baby Yoda figures from Hasbro and other toy companies will be announced in the next few months. The good news is that’ll give you enough time to complete Buffalo Games’s 500-piece jigsaw puzzle featuring the Child and his Mandalorian protector. Available for $10.99 on Amazon, also includes a poster that you can use as a guide and a piece of wall art.
As the Child’s green-skinned predecessor might say, “Begun the Baby Yoda merchandise wars have.”
