‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Brett Harris Explains Why He Will ‘Forever Be Grateful’ to Jason Kelce

Brett Harris, a brief but beloved contestant on this season of The Bachelorette, is shouting out one of his biggest inspirations on The Viall Files.

One of seven men to be sent home by bachelorette Jenn Tran during the premiere episode, some fans believed his quick exit had to do with his footballer stature—a body type that makes sense, given his years playing college ball, but that the man himself doesn't blame it for the pair's lack of "sparks."

The environmental health and safety manager called into the podcast, hosted by former bachelor Nick Viall, to talk about his quick stint on the 21st season of the reality series. "I have no right better than any of those other guys to deserve any special treatment," he said candidly, pointing out that, if the roles were reversed, he wouldn't want people scrutinizing his own decision so harshly.

Instead, he's just happy to have been "representing my offensive linemen on the show," much like former Eagles center Jason Kelce. "[He] has paved the way for me to be able to be here," he continued. "I’ll forever be grateful for that man.”

Kelce, of course, maintained a similar body type throughout his Eagles career, listed at 295 during his final season and currently hitting in the low 280s as he works to bulk down to 250 in his retirement.

Harris delighted fans not only with his sweet personality but with what some called his plus-sized body type and what others celebrated as a "regular-sized" body type.

Fans are already calling for him to be the next Bachelor, with one asserting, "His 'type' never gets a chance. I hate it!!! Let's change that!!" and another declaring, "We need more big guys to get a shot at love!"

Though his Bachelor Nation fame was short-lived, he still considered it a "good experience," and isn't "sour" about the fact that "the chemistry wasn’t there."
