Coronavirus may be heavy, but the "Back to the Future" cast is sharing some laughs.

The stars of the hit ’80s film series reunited virtually on Monday — nearly 35 years since the first film hit theaters — to reminisce while raising money for coronavirus relief efforts.

The reunion, hosted by "Frozen" star Josh Gad for his YouTube series "Reunited Apart," included stars Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson, as well as co-writer Bob Gale and director Robert Zemeckis.

Actresses Mary Steenburgen and Elisabeth Shue, musician Huey Lewis and composer Alan Silvestri also joined the fun.

During the video, the group reminisced about filming the series and reenacted some of the films' classic scenes. J.J. Abrams also popped into the discussion to test them on their "Back to the Future" trivia knowledge.

Toward the end of the chat, Gad posed a question.

"Bob and Bob have said there's never gonna be another 'Back to the Future' sequel, which I hope is a lie," he said. "If hypothetically they were, I would love to hear what you would pitch for Marty and Doc to travel back to and why."

Thompson, who played Marty McFly's mom, Lorraine, was quick to respond.

"I'd like you to go back to, like, January, where they could warn us about the coronavirus," she said.

Gale had another cheeky idea.

"It would have to be that Doc and Marty find out that we're thinking about making another 'Back to the Future' movie, and they come back to stop us from doing such a crazy thing," he said.

Zemeckis also chimed in, confirming that fans can stop holding out hope for a sequel.

"If I had an idea that I could have pitched to Bob with a straight face, we would have made it," he added. "I'd have no answer to that question."

Fans watching the 30-minute video are encouraged to donate to Project Hope, a charity dedicated to health care workers. As of Monday evening, Gad's series had raised more than $6,500 in donations for the charity.
