The Bad Guys 2 Release Date Set for Animated DreamWorks Sequel
DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures have given The Bad Guys 2 an August 2025 release date.
Per Deadline, The Bad Guys 2 will be released in United States theaters on August 1, 2025.
The movie, according to Deadline, “follows the crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws who are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys. However, they’re pulled out of retirement and forced to do ‘one last job’ by an all-female squad of criminals.
Who stars in The Bad Guys 2?
The voice cast for the movie includes Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as Mr. Prianha, Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula, Zazie Beetz as Diana Foxington, Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, Alex Borstein as Misty Luggins, and Lilly Singh as Tiffany Fluffit.
The film is being directed by Pierre Perifel, with JP Sans serving as co-director. Damon Ross is producing the film.
The first Bad Guys movie, which is loosely based on a children’s book series of the same name by Aaron Blabey, was released in March 2022. It received mostly positive reviews from critics and made approximately $250.4 million at the global box office off an estimated budget of $69-80 million.
“After a lifetime of legendary heists, notorious criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula are finally caught,” the synopsis for the first movie reads. “To avoid a prison sentence, the animal outlaws must pull off their most challenging con yet — becoming model citizens. Under the tutelage of their mentor, Professor Marmalade, the dubious gang sets out to fool the world that they’re turning good.”
The movie was followed by a television special, The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday, that premiered on Netflix in November 2023.
The Bad Guys 2 releases in theaters on August 1, 2025.
