Which bands are marching in the 2024 Indy 500 Festival Parade? Here's the list

The list of bands gearing up for the 500 Festival Parade is out.

The May 25 parade through downtown Indianapolis will feature bands from across the U.S. as well as floats, giant balloons, celebrities and all 33 drivers competing in the Indy 500.

This is the 68th year for the annual event, part of the 500 Festival. It typically sees more than 200,000 spectators line its 1.5-mile route.

These 15 bands are marching in the 2024 500 Festival Parade:

• 38th Infantry Division Band, Indianapolis

• Grand Ledge Marching Band, Grand Ledge, Michigan

• Indianapolis Public Schools All-City Band, Indianapolis

• Marine Band San Diego, San Diego, California

• Mater Dei Marching Wildcats, Evansville

• National Band Association’s Indiana All-Star Band, Zionsville

• Pendleton Heights Marching Arabians, Pendleton

• Purdue University "All-American" Marching Band, West Lafayette

• Speedway High School 500 Regiment Band, Speedway

• Spirit of Muncie Central Band and Guard, Muncie

• The Pride of DeSoto Central Marching Band, Southaven, Mississippi

• The Pride of Westfield, Westfield

• The Sound of Brownsburg, Brownsburg

• Washington Golden Pride, Washington

• Western High School Marching Panthers, Russiaville

What is the 500 Festival?

The 500 Festival is one of the largest festivals in the nation. It, along with events and programs celebrating the spirit of the Indianapolis 500, is produced by the namesake not-for-profit organization the 500 Festival.

What is the theme for the 2024 Indy 500 Festival season?

This year’s theme is “Iconic Moments in Indy.”

The theme “pays tribute to the legendary moments and unforgettable memories that define the city, most evident throughout the unparalleled Month of May,” the 500 Festival organization said.

How to watch the 2024 Indy 500 Festival Parade

The parade will be available to the Indianapolis market on WTHR, Channel 13 and nationally on Peacock.
