Barack Obama's Favorite Songs of 2020 Includes Megan Thee Stallion's 'Savage'

Over the weekend, Barack Obama took to Twitter to release his annual “favorite” lists, posting about all of the cultural works he enjoyed the most in 2020. He started the extravagant reveal on Friday by announcing his favorite television, movies and books. Then on Saturday, he released his favorite music of the year.

“Here are some of my favorite songs of the year,” wrote the former president. “As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”

High on Obama’s list is the remix of “Savage” featuring his pal Beyonce. Next up is a song by fellow Chicagoan, Jeff Tweedy. Obama’s picks spanned across genres, touching on everything from modern American country to Afro-Colombian EDM. Some of the songs Obama selected, like “Kyoto” by Phoebe Bridgers and “Can’t Do Much” by Waxahatchee, have shown up on a number of end-of-year lists, while others are less familiar selections. Dua Lipa, Bruce Springsteen, J. Cole, H.E.R., Mac Miller, and Travis Scott also made the cut.
