“Barbie”’s Ariana Greenblatt Says Her Mom Guessed Margot Robbie’s Pregnancy Before the News Broke (Exclusive)
Greenblatt starred in 2023's 'Barbie' alongside Robbie, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera
Months before the news of Margot Robbie's pregnancy broke, Ariana Greenblatt's mom called it.
Speaking to PEOPLE about the bonds she formed while filming the Greta Gerwig-directed blockbuster film Barbie, Greenblatt revealed that her mom, Soli, had a dream about Robbie's pregnancy.
“I was like, ‘Mom, I'm not texting Margot ‘I think you're pregnant.’ She's going to think I'm crazy,” Greenblatt, 16, says in PEOPLE's August digital cover story.
Then, when the news was out, she went straight to her mom: “I was like, ‘Mom, Margot's pregnancy came out today.’ And she was like, ‘I called it, I'm a bruja (witch). I can tell the future.’ ” She gives a dramatic pause. “That happens a lot with her.”

She adds, "I was like, 'S---. I should have texted Margot because she would've thought it was awesome.'"
PEOPLE confirmed the actress, 34, is expecting her first baby with husband Tom Ackerley — who she married in 2016 during a private ceremony in Australia's Byron Bay — on July 8. Days later, the couple made their first public appearance at the London tennis tournament at the All England Club.
Speaking to The Sunday Times in June, Ackerley praised his wife of seven years, with whom he works on the production company LuckyChap.
“It’s seamless,” the British film producer told the outlet when asked how they separate business and pleasure. “We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”
Elsewhere in her interview, Greenblatt, who plays Sasha, the unenthused daughter of America Ferrera’s Gloria, recalled the first time she walked onto the set of Barbie while they were filming the blowout sleepover scene. She was only 14 years old — and stunned by the cast's warm embrace.

“I was expecting everyone to just gloss over me and I'd have to build up the courage to say hi. But instantly Margot came and gave me a hug, and the Kens and the Barbies and America gave me a hug," she says.
She also sat back and took "everything in quietly" from her cast mates.
With Robbie — who she calls "queen bee" — Greenblatt picked up on how she set the tone on set with her positive nature.
"I [was] in awe of how they work... and how much they do and with a smile on their face. [It] was really inspiring to me," she says.
