Baseball Game Selfie Girls Fight Back on 'Ellen'

The sorority girls from Arizona State University who were mercilessly selfie-shamed for their actions at an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game last week stopped by Ellen to explain themselves.

As one of the girls put it, being at the game was less about baseball and more about growing their own sisterhood: “It’s more of a socializing and bonding experience to get to know each other, so it’s really fun.”

They have also turned the reaction, which has been both positive and negative, into a way to give back. They were offered more game tickets from the Diamondbacks and donated them to a domestic violence shelter. And, along with Ellen’s generous $10,000 donation, they have started a fundraising campaign to increase awareness for the cause.
