Baton Rouge Blues Festival returns with all star lineup
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The downtown Baton Rouge Blues Festival is just days away. The free event features an All Star roster of award-winning musicians playing on four stages.
The lineup has over 30 performers. It includes top national blues artists like Kenny Neal, Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Black Joe Lewis, Janiva Magness, Jackie Venson, and Ally Venable. It also includes Louisiana favorites Louis Michot, D.K. Harrell, Chris LeBlanc, Jonathon Boogie Long, and Smokehouse Porter & Ms. Mamie.
Baton Rouge Blues Festival: What to know about parking, map, restrooms
The festival begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 19. Grammy-nominated, local bluesman Kenny Neal will play at the Visit Baton Rouge Swamp Blues stage next to the Old State Capitol on North Boulevard.
Thanks to a partnership with the popular music series Live After Five, this is the first time the Baton Rouge Blues Festival has offered a Friday evening concert. It will kick off a full weekend of great blues music.
The festival runs from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21.
