‘Batwoman’ Co-Star Camrus Johnson Says Ruby Rose Was Definitely Fired
“Batwoman” star Camrus Johnson didn’t mince words when he weighed in on the, uh, situation with Ruby Rose. “Yeah fam, she was fired,” he said on Twitter Wednesday night, also calling her allegations of workplace misconduct on the set of the CW series “a lot of lies.”
Johnson also appeared to back Warner Bros.’ side of the story — that Rose was fired after “multiple complaints” about her on-set behavior — telling fans “it is VERY hard to be fired when you’re the lead. Imagine what u have to do for that 2 happen.”
In an extensive Instagram story on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, Rose accused former WB TV chairman Peter Roth of bullying her into working in unsafe conditions after an on-set injury, and added that her on-screen father Dougray Scott abused women on set prior to his exit at the end of season two.
Though those were the most serious accusations, Rose also called out Johnson by name, saying he criticized them for being late to set after leaving the hospital one day. Rose referred to Johnson as “a egomaniac kid who worked one day a week.”
In a follow-up tweet, Johnson acknowledged the confusion surrounding Rose’s accusations, and assured fans that there are “great souls” working on the show.
“Since it was claimed she ‘walked away’ last year I’m sure some of you may be pretty confused or upset, and even moreso that a lot of lies were spread today. Just know we have a lot of great souls working on this show and none of this changes that. From the top to the bottom.”
