‘Baywatch’ alum Nicole Eggert, 52, shaves head as she fights ‘horrifying’ breast cancer
Nicole Eggert is staying strong amid her struggles with breast cancer.
The “Baywatch” star, 52, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a powerful video of herself shaving her head.
In her caption, she quoted psychotherapist Madeleine Eames, penning: “Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are.”
The clip featured the actress sitting down and using an electric razor to buzz off her pixie haircut.
As the time-lapse video went on, one of her daughters stepped in to help shave off her sides. Eggert is the mother of kids Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25.
At the end, Eggert let out a relieved sigh and smiled widely.
The “Charles in Charge” alum received love and support from fans and friends, with fellow actress Alyssa Milano commenting: “Grace. You have the most grace. It’s inspiring and I appreciate you.”
Jennie Garth chimed in: “Sending you a big hug.”
“Sending you so much love.
You are a boss and I know you’ve got this,” a user wrote.
Eggert, who played lifeguard Summer Quinn on the ’90s action drama, announced in January that she was diagnosed in December 2023 with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer.
She opened up about her illness earlier this year to People, noting that she gained 25 pounds in three months and began feeling pain in her left breast.
“It really was throbbing and hurting,” she said at the time. “I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at. But the problem was I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done.”
She then assumed the pain was an early sign of menopause.
Once she underwent a mammogram and three biopsies, Eggert’s health reports tested positive for cancer.
“This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sail through life,” the “Who’s the Boss?” actress added, noting that she’s been trying to stay optimistic. “I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”
In February, Eggert divulged that more cancer was found in her lymph nodes.
She told Inside Edition at the time that she “kicks herself” for not regularly self-examining her breasts to make sure no lumps have formed.
“When I felt it, my heart dropped and I was like oh my god. Nobody could take me, so I walked into every breast care center. It’s horrifying because every day and every minute that passes, you know it’s growing,” she said.
