‘Baywatch’ cast reunites at ‘Moment in the Sun’ doc premiere — with 2 glaring absences
It’s a “Baywatch” reunion!
The cast of the ’90s lifeguard series reunited at the premiere of the new ABC News docuseries, “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun,” at the Bungalow in Santa Monica, California, on Monday.
Carmen Electra, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Brandy Ledford, David Chokachi, Brande Roderick, Traci Bingham, Jaason Simmons, Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin, Nancy Valen and Michael Newman were among the stars at the event.
Pamela Anderson, who played C.J. Parker on the show, was absent from the premiere.
David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon, also didn’t make an appearance.
Electra, known for her role as Lani McKenzie, sported a white top with a matching silk pantsuit and unbuttoned blazer.
The 52-year-old actress became a sex symbol on “Baywatch.”
In recent years, she joined OnlyFans and officially changed her legal name from Tara Leigh Patrick to her famous stage moniker.
Eggert, who played Summer Quinn, arrived at the premiere in a black top and blazer with blue jeans.
The 52-year-old sported a shaved head amid her breast cancer battle.
She announced in January that she was diagnosed in December 2023 with Stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer.
At the premiere, Eggert told People that she’s waiting for the next steps in her treatment.
“I am good,” she said. “I am in sort of a gray area, and I finished my treatment, waiting for more imaging and hopefully maybe surgery.”
Eggert, who is a producer on the doc, added, “And there’s a lot of waiting in this, and it’s sort of something I didn’t really realize and nobody really talks about. But the gray area is the hardest because you don’t know what’s happening, and you’re just, when I’m doing treatment, I felt like I was doing something productive.”
“So it felt positive, and I was like, OK, I’m doing something positive. And now that it’s just like nothing, it’s like, well wait a minute. We got to get this out.’ So it’s, it’s just frustrating.”
Paul, who played Stephanie Holden, had on a semi-sheer black dress with matching heels at the premiere.
The 61-year-old was joined by her husband, Ian Murray, 56, who wore a navy blazer and black pants.
The “Baywatch” docuseries looks back on the beloved show that aired from 1989 to 1999 with cast interviews and never-before-seen footage.
Anderson, 57, didn’t do any interviews for the doc, but she does appear in a never-aired interview where she says, “I’m really proud of everything I’ve done — almost.”
The “Home Improvement” star is also described as “an icon” and “a sweet girl from Canada who came to get the American dream” in the trailer for the documentary.
Billy Warlock, who played Eddie Kramer, said in the trailer that “everybody” on the show “was disposable.”
According to its logline, the docuseries promises “a nostalgic and insightful exploration of ‘Baywatch,’ the cultural phenomenon that defined an era, and an unprecedented look into the stars who brought the world’s most famous lifeguards to life. Through dozens of new cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, this docuseries unpacks how the show captured the mythology of California’s beach culture, set physical beauty standards for an entire generation, and capitalized on the adage ‘sex sells.’ ”
OG star Hasselhoff is not among the confirmed list of cast members who participated in the docuseries.
“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” premieres Aug, 28 on Hulu.
